A Poem

By

Sophia Street

A bird scratched me once,
but I didn't bleed.
Instead I pulled out a thread,
attached was a seed.
It ripped me open,
it cut me in half,
this screaming photograph,
silenced in glass
of endless desire;
this pelican on fire.

Quiz question:

What happened when the bird scratched the speaker?

The speaker died.

The speaker died.

The speaker started bleeding.

The speaker started bleeding.

The speaker pullled out a thread with a seed attached to it.

The speaker pullled out a thread with a seed attached to it.

Nothing.

Nothing.

Congratulations!
